This village developed during the second Nasafjäll era. A forge and smithy were built during the mining eras (see also Nasafjäll). The first farming settler came to Adolfström in 1841. Descendants of this settler are still living in Adolfström. The Yraft delta gave lots of forage for livestock. Today you can see the remains of the forge, smithy and the beautiful Majorsgården House, which has been restored to its original state. In Adolfström you really must visit Handelsboden (the Village Store) where you can find everything from sugar loaves and old wall hangings from the 1950s to fun gifts and fine souvenirs. About 10 km from Adolfström Märkforsen Nature Reserve is situated with it's beautiful waterfall and unusual flora to study. It is habitat for more than 270 herbs.
