The founder of the Silvermuseum, Dr Einar Wallquist, lived here during the most of his life until his death 21th of December 1985.

He was very interested in the culture of the sami and the settlers, and he started to collect older items from the region where he worked. In the doctor´s house it´s now possible to see all his collected works.
